In the scheme of things almost always, 'I' takes priority over 'you', others after 'I', selfless after self. The reverse is extremely altruistic and often rare. Those who always put others before self or selfless before self are the most enlightened people.

My parents taught me from an early age to stay within limits and keep away from false pretenses. My upbringing inculcated in me the wisdom to remain satisfied with whatever my family could afford and provide, I have tried to continue the same in my life and for my family.

However, being ambitious or looking up to better oneself is not wrong. To look after our own needs is necessary. What is wrong is being selfish, depriving others to fulfill our desires, wants and wishes. The quote impresses the importance of keeping a positive outlook and focus on what we have rather than what we do not. We should always count our blessings rather than lament our misfortunes.

To be of service to others is a very noble thought and should be practiced and prioritized according to our capabilities and circumstances. This is what makes a community, a common unity in mutual service and understanding. Without this concept of commune, community and communication, humanity and human values will be at risk!

I am trying to reduce stress. I've made sure that I have everything we need at least for the next couple weeks. I text my kids every two or three days just to be sure they are okay. Finally, I am reading your reflections as well as a Bible verse that is posted on my phone every morning. 💗
